Well it isn't the PRETTIEST looking meal in this picture - but I promise it will be tastier than it looks!
I've been hosting a freezer to crockpot group on Facebook and it's been a lot of fun to share this meal prep strategy with others. Having these meals ready to go in the freezer just to thaw and add to the crockpot is seriously GENIUS.
Today I'm sharing a recipe I found over at The Taylor House! I've adapted it very slightly - but thank you very much to them for this amazing recipe!
So how do you prepare a freezer to crockpot meal?
Freezer to Crockpot Chicken Teriyaki
Start with gathering your ingredients! Most of these I wouldn't be surprised if you already had on hand. I had everything on hand but the ginger root as most of these are staple pantry items. I love recipes that don't use a million different ingredients - most of which you have to make a SPECIAL trip to the store for!
Above is the list of ingredients! I did one meal using liquid aminos and one meal using low sodium soy sauce. For the veggies I used a Broccoli Stir Fry for one and a Pepper Stir Fry for the other! Feel free to use whatever you have on hand or whatever is our preference! (note the bag size was 14.4 oz)
Be sure and add your frozen chicken breasts LAST to the bag. This recipe was a LITTLE trickier to get to freeze flat - but I did the best I could!
The night before you want to eat this meal put it in the fridge overnight to thaw. In the morning simply add to your crockpot and cook on low for four to eight hours! I'm thinking some brown rice or even some zoodles will be the perfect addition to this meal!
Please let me know when you try it! Can't wait to hear your thoughts - Do you use your crockpot often?
