TIS THE SEASON for vision boards, resolutions, goals, crazy full gyms and words of affirmation. In the past I have set resolutions...but it just didn't work for me. If it does for you - that's great! But thinking about goals a year at a time is overwhelming to me...So this year I'm doing things a bit differently.
What are your Words?
The events of 2016 have put a lot of things in life in perspective. I think as you age, priorities change. I always used to think it was weird when people said "They are still learning about themselves" or "I didn't know who I was yet." - buuuttt I think I'm finally understanding what these *weirdos* (cough. now i'm one too) mean.
Yes I made a vision board for my year - because I honestly love designing things. And creating a visual of your goals, dreams and foresight of your future is therapeutic. and hello...kinda fun!
A lot of people on my coaching team have been asking me what my "word" this year is... and after doing a ton of reflecting and thinking - it's just so hard to pick just one. so - Bear with me as I have a few words and phrases. Maybe this will inspire you to create your own?
Abundance I believe that what you think about, believe in your heart and imagine to be true will become true. Think abundantly, dream big and let the abundance come into your life.
Live with Grace. This is a mantra I have been telling myself this year. When I get frustrated, want to hurry through something, am tempted to slack off, or there is something I'm just not overly pumped to do I tell myself. "Just do it and do it with grace." - always. whether it's home life, nurse life, coach life - WHATEVER. Have grace. Live it.
Balance. this does NOT mean that you do everything in your life in equal amounts. It just means that when I'm working hard I'm working hard. When I'm resting, I'm resting. Run. Lift. Punch something. Blog when I want to. A few of those messages in my inbox can wait. Eat the french fries and milk shake when I feel like it and a salad when I want to. The people in my life matter. Pay attention to them and give them my time and my heart.
Live More. This goes along with balance. Being present. Don't be afraid of just letting walls down and just LIIIVVEEE
Relax, Present. Stop waking up at 4 am to grind. Get some rest too! Grind when you have to or want to. Be present in my life. Do what I feel called to do and take time to UNPLUG.
