Here are a few of the things that have been happening this week - on my mind...and some deeper thoughts also! We celebrated a big birthday last week too! And how amazing is this DONUT CAKE. (seriously the best ever!)
Thoughts and Links Lately
I recently shared this link on my facebook page after reading THIS article. Weight watchers is promoting a program targeted at teens for weight loss. I guess I would have go find out MORE information before coming to a complete conclusion. I definitely think there is SO MUCH work to be done to help our childhood obesity problem in the United States. But truly it comes to down families working together to accomplish this. TEACHING our families to make better eating choices, but know when it's ok to have treats too! Not focusing on the scale but on FEELING good and WHY we choose to be active - and making being active FUN! - My fear is that this program will all be focused on kids losing weight - making THAT the focus. Making them see their bodies as a "problem" - where will that lead them later in life? How will that scar them? It is SUCH a vulnerable age group...We need STRONG, CONFIDENT and EDUCATED youth ... we need to give them all the power to accomplish those things and do it with them together <3
Would love to hear YOUR thoughts on it.
I don't have kids (yet) but do plan on it one day and my hope is that we can be active together! Get out of the house, explore, have dance parties, do workout videos together... etc! Help them find out the ways they enjoy moving their bodies and celebrate that <3 -

Chicken and even fish! This one below is the one we have - For just the two of us it is fine, but if you are serving more than two people I would recommend a larger one!
