Eats, Treats, Thoughts, Reads and Activities from the past week!
I logged 16.61 miles this week - more that I usually do with my longest run being a tad over 6.5 miles. All my runs were done on the treadmill - which I actually enjoy! (I'm a freak I know) Why do I love the hamster wheel? Because I bring my nook with me and catch up on my favorite blogs using the Bloglovin' app and also reading the magazines that download to it each month...Running feels like a treat when I get to catch up on those.
I also logged two lifting sessions (done with moves inspired by various beachbody workouts).
Two Beachbody on Demand workouts: preview of the Shift Shop and also a Shaun T workout and my friend Abby joined me for that one!
It's not too late to become one of my new clients - see if it it may be for you by filling out this short form HERE
Posting this selfie JUST to show you this adorable new sports bra - a big score for me at under eight bucks for their Semi-Annual Sale!
Lately I have been fascinated with researching brain health and gut health...Turns out they are very closely tied together! I'm adding this collagen peptides powder to my day and today was day one. It isn't flavored and doesn't thicken any food or drink so easily can be added to coffee, shakes, oatmeal or whatever! I put a scoop in my coffee today and I couldn't taste it. I do this I could smell it? But I think that is because I got some powder on the rim of the mug. Definitely doable. Anyone else try this?
I'm nearly through the book Head Strong by Dave Asprey and this is next on the list! Has anyone ever read this one or Grain Brain? OR maybe you have read Dave Asprey too - Love his Bulletproof Radio Podcast also!
Give me all the fats! We are spoiled and have salmon sent from B's uncle that lives in Alaska! He has a salmon wheel and catches them himself. Talk about WILD CAUGHT! I made this fillet by drizzling with honey and balsamic and sprinkling with pepper, garlic powder and sea salt. Bake at 400 degrees for about 17 minutes and it will be done when it's flaky. Paired this with some roasted potatoes. Also good sprinkled with parmesan after it is done cooking. Are you a salmon fan? How do you make yours? PS. Parchment paper is ALWAYS used in this household for easy cleanup.
Looking for a sweet yet not over the top summer cocktail? A friend from work suggested this one and I approve! I was a bit leary because I have had a horrible experience with malibu YEARS ago (and have been scarred ever since if you know what I mean...) - but I really liked this and the dangerous thing is that it went down soooo smooth. This mixed with a hot summer day could be trouble! (or really awesome)
-shot of Malibu Rum
-Bai bubbles - pineapple or coconut lime flavor
I've ordered products from the lions choice before, but it had been a while so I decided to go for it! I have had various flavors of their peanut butter, edible cookie dough and their pancake mix also. They also have powdered peanut butter and a ton of other products too! This time I went for these two flavors of their edible cookie dough! It is AMAZING in my nearly nightly Shakeology ice cream treat. Hello blizzard made at home...
Sprinkles are life. Haven't busted into the cereal bowl one yet!
and don't worry - the original Dairy Queen blizzards have gone down recently too. My favorite is the classic oreo...what is yours? I did also see that Cold Stone now has a cupcake ice cream? Say what? Might have to get in on that this week!
My favorite way to start the day is coffee on the deck...ONE day I want it to be that way EVERY day...
Flat out wraps have made a strong come back and SERIOUSLY have made an appearance nearly every day. I'm not sorry.
Bake a flatout brand wrap for 5 minutes
Bake another 2 minutes and broil until cheese melts and crust is lightly brown. (watch closely because it can go from hero to zero very quickly!)
Drizzle with whatever ...oh and if you are me it'll be everything spicy
OH EM GEE.
Made a meal delivery yesterday and got to visit a good friend that just had a baby two weeks ago! She is really focusing on increasing her protein and cutting out artificial sweeteners and so I thought this recipe would be perfect! With almost 30 grams of protein (based on 9 servings out of a 9x13 pan) and less than 2 carbohydrates it was approved by her plan! I shared the recipe with my current clients and can't wait to hear what they think! Do you love eggbakes too? If it were up to me I could eat breakfast foods for every meal!
So STOKED as I made client check in's this weekend! One is down THIRTEEN pounds since starting with me about a month ago and another is down 18 inches! How insane is that?? I want to stress to you that health is NOT only about being a healthy weight ... but it's about how you FEEL. YOUR MINDSET. And making it a life that you can be in for the long haul - there are no short cuts. You are SO WORTH starting now - Fill out THIS FORM to learn how you can be my next story!
Really hoping the sun comes back out this week and it heats up here in ND! I want the sunshine, my book and a lounge chair...
