I find myself surprised and relieved that today is the last day of 2016. Every year contains its own life lessons and this year as many has had its fair share of ups and downs. You build up and grow from the downs, but in a positive reflection let's hone in on some of it's ups before I get to 2017...
Reflections & The New Year - What Really Matters
I still love cookies. Baking them. And eating the ones full of chocolate chips...are super soft and the size of my face.
and no day goes without coffee. Still love a dark roast. My nespresso homemade lattes (double shot) and I found a new love for cold brew iced with a splash of soy.
Shakeology waffles are still almost going strong as a daily breakfast. Don't forget lots of peanut butter please.
Some travel too - A trip to Arizona to visit the parents...
and good friends too! Finally got to meet in person my friend Nicki!
Brendan and I made my first ever trip to Duluth...It was HOOOTTT. Patio beers!
The Platinum Edge Conference in Dallas for the 2nd year in a row too!
Friends that become like family. Love our coaching team - misFIT Tribe!
and fun nights out with amazing amazing friends.
and ALL THE WEDDINGS! This girl got MARRIED! #champagnecampaign
and so did my best friend Kari. This guy is the most handsome date EVER. Just sayin...
Workouts happened when I completed: Hammer and Chisel, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Core De Force (starting round 3 soon) and I got in plenty of running too!
Cafe Latte is the bomb.com.
my fitness photo shoot happened too.
Time spent with this guy will be my favorite for the rest of forever.
When life can change in an instant it really frames all that is important in life. My dad underwent emergent open heart surgery right before Christmas. My roots of nursing are Cardiac ICU and he was a patient on the unit I used to work on. The time spent in the ER, Cath Lab, when he was in surgery and still waking up was like living in my own personal nightmare. I've taken care of a ton of heart patients - but when it's your own dad - the story becomes different.
I'm so proud to say that he went from critical to HOME on post op day three. I'm proud how our family has pulled together through that week and ever since. We don't know what will be the changes to come this year for our family - be we will make it the greatest. Amen.
My dad's hands, heart and mindset is one of the strongest and determined souls I have yet to meet.
Here we come 2017. I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Time to focus on the things and people that matter...
Goals? I'll get to those in a minute...
What about yours?
Runner. Lifter. Girlboss. Entrepreneur. Nurse. Coach.
