As an RN this year was my year to renew my ACLS - Advanced Care Life Support certificate. In a nutshell it is CPR with added knowledge of what medications to give and how to start aftercare of post code patients. Thought this article was interesting as many have an incorrect perception of what running a code is really like...
One of my roles at the hospital is to ensure our patients are receiving the best care possible and that their concerns and voices are heard. I work on a surgical unit so of course patient anxiety is usually high - it is something we been working REALLY hard on alleviating or at least improving for our patients. One of the things that has been proven to help is music therapy. We would really like to be able to provide this for our patients as they wait to go back to the operating room. Here is an interesting study done with something else that is contributing to alleviating anxiety for patients...

LOVED this article about fitness. So easy to get focused on getting "healthy" for the WRONG reasons. - So much so in fact that people become unhealthy about it. Health should mean to you whatever you want it to be. It should be about finding a balance that is right for you. A number on the scale, a dress size, etc should NOT define you. Read this and ask yourself this question.
