Gosh I love baking... if you can't tell already! And I'll find any "excuse" to bring treats to work! I'm all about treats on Halloween - I know I'm all about being healthy but to me that IS healthy! Moderation and treat yourself right?
Halloween Baking and Anxiety Talk
I saw a meme that was all about handing out mini salad bags for halloween treats... seriously? Has the world really come to that? Have some candy people! I remember it was awesome to get home...dump out the candy...sort it out (pass off the gross ones to dad...ha!) and it was the BEST when you got to a house and they gave you a can of pop or full size candy bar!!! I remember even getting homemade popcorn balls and candy apples! (which would not fly today) There were even a few houses in town that got SUPER into their creepy decorating and I was too freaked out to go to the door alone. My friend Kari's grandma (bless her) LOVED halloween - She had the most outrageous amount of candy, decorations and even had music playing in her house and on her porch. She made me my OWN special treat bag too! (gosh the best...)
Been realizing more and more lately that I struggle at times with anxiety. I think for a LONG time I have said "no not me." and just kept putting it off - shielding it by staying busy, working through it and putting it out of my mind. But stress under the surface builds and lately I've noticed it affecting my PHYSICAL health.
IBS flare - indigestion. abdominal pain. cramping. can't go. or go all the time (sorry if TMI)
In a funk -
But it is a NEW month and I'm not waiting for a NEW year to "start fresh" - I get that opportunity every day. And although life is damn roller coaster. I can do this.
A daily reading always helps my mindset. I choose something like a devotion, a leadership book or a book on relationships. Whatever it is that I want to work on to improve myself that month THAT is what I choose. I don't always get a chance to sit down like this in the am - so if I don't on those days I put on one of my favorite podcasts and tune in.
I guess it's easy to get thrown off track sometimes, but I know I can get back on track.
