Thought it would be fun to share some new finds from this week and what I've been loving -
i was a bit skeptical...but I gave it a go! I'm really glad I did! I'm not a big fan of black beans in their "regular form" but I have loved them if they are "hidden" in tacos, or as the spicy bean dip from Trader Joes, and I'm now a fan of them in chips! They have a ton of flavors and it was hard to choose! "Vegetable" chips seem to be all the rage lately..and I've tried a few! I have the terra vegetable chips and the sweet potato ones as well. Of course fried chips are fried chips - so while not ENTIRELY super healthy these were delish! And they had extra fiber and protein vs regular potato chips. It was a nice treat this week and they are really good with guac! (what isn't though)
I'm a big fan of Bolthouse's regular ranch and I love spicy so I thought I would like this one too! I was definitely right! I seem to be on a mexican food kick lately and this will be perfect on anything..especially taco salads! Love their products...has anyone else tried any of their other salad dressings?
It's no secret that I love peanut butter and this vanilla almond butter is DELISH also! It has some added cane sugar to add just a bit of sweetness and I dare you to try it on your eggs... don't knock it until you try it! Other peanut/almond butters I have been loving include the protein peanut butter from The Lion's Choice: birthday cake and maple donut both have my approval!
Seriously give me all the broccoli lately. Roasted, Steamed, Grilled - whatever! My go-to is the steamer bags that are in the fresh produce section. Stab the bag, nuke for 3 minutes and done! I love it topped with butter or coconut oil and sprinkled with any type of seasoning...especially garlic powder! - Roasted is super easy too. Drizzle with oil, season and roast on 400 for about 15 minutes flipping every 10 minutes. Broccoli dipped in ketchup is bomb.com - especially Annie's ketchup. Again - don't knock it til you try it!
Like I said - I'm on a mexican food kick! I decided to give this seasoning a go! Salt free for those watching sodium intake. I figure I get enough salt in a day and don't need any extra - so this is a great choice! B gave it his approval too and said it had a little bite to it! I literally dump cayenne and crushed red pepper on everything so I didn't think it was bad at all! Great for the shrimp I grilled the other night!
Tried something new this week! Thaw out salad shrimp and add to sprayed foil. Add seasonings (such as the Mrs. Dash above) and I also added chopped onions and peppers! Drizzle with some olive oil - fold the foil and grill for a few minutes until hot! It was great on those Beanitos chips and guac. - doesn't this look amazing???
