Hot Mess Hair Solution & Tutorial
I promise this is so much easier than it looks! ESPECIALLY if you know how to braid and know the basics of french braiding.
Some things to remember - it doesn't have to be perfect! And know it just takes experimenting and practice! So just keep at it!!!
Doing this alongside your face using your "bangs" area is easiest because you can see what you are doing!
Start by gathering a small section of hair along your part - I usually use about an inch wide of hair.
Split this section into three equal strands of hair - like you would for a braid! Starting with the strand closest to your forehead ...
Cross the section UNDER the middle piece and add an additional small section of hair TO the section as you cross it under.
Do your best to keep it tight! That way the braid will lie flat against your head as you work your way down.
Now take a small section of hair (the side OPPOSITE your forehead) and add that to the strand at the outside as you cross that section to the middle of the original three small sections.
Add hair to the outside section crossing under the middle. - pull tight
Add hair to the opposite side and then cross that one under so it becomes the middle section. - pull tight.
Keep making your way down your head towards your eat and following your hair line. You can make the braid as small or as wide as you wish! I usually do the french braiding until I get to about my ear and then braid it WITHOUT adding sections(just a regular braid) and then secure it with a small hairband. You can then pull it back into a pony tail or pin it back with bobbi pins and leave your hair down!
I promise it's not as hard as it seems! Just keep trying and working on it!
