I get asked frequently what my "typical" day looks like as a full time nurse and also a health and fitness coach - so here we go! My shifts vary quite a bit so no day really is "the same" but I thought I would share an example of my daily "grind" - which I don't consider a grind when I truly love what I do Day in the Life-I typically rise between 4:30 and 5:00 am - i LOVE mornings. This is my time I'm most productive and I can get so much done before the world is up! I start the coffee maker, grab a cup and fill it up and it's time for some personal development! This has made such a difference in my mindset....Just 10 minutes or a chapter in a positive book sets my mind in the right place for the day..I'll happily share my favorites if that is something you are curious about! My stomach usually wakes me in the morning..so breakfast time it is. Shakeology waffles/pancakes have been my go to in the mornings lately ..so good. Filling and quick to make too! I make breakfast and then sit down at the computer while I eat breakfast - It's "power hour time!" (or at least part of it) - I check my back online office of my coaching business and do a few follow up with clients. I also check in on my challenge groups on social media to see peoples progress and posts! I check my messages and answer those that need immediate response. I usually plan my posts for the day during the time and sometimes schedule them to post later in the morning if I know I will be working at this time! Depending on what time I work that day determines whether I work out before work. I definitely prefer a morning workout!!! If I work at 7:30 or later I will squeeze in a workout. So nice to be able to get a solid workout in at home! and I feel SO much more energized the rest of the day! and there couldn't be more truth to the phrase on my workout tank... Alright - time to hurry off to nurse life! I work in the PACU/Day Surgery area at a local hospital. My shifts are eight hours and generally fly by as we are all running around... Lunch break consists of checking messages, emails, and checking in with clients again in my groups! Done with work usually around 4 pm! As soon as I get home it's time to grab the mail, water the plants, clean up the dishes and possibly even start some laundry OR start prepping for supper! I'm usually hungry between 5:00 and 6:00 pm! While I'm hustling around the house I put on a podcast - nothing like some more personal development and it makes these tasks so much more enjoyable! B generally gets home between 5:30 and 7 - and I'll USUALLY have some sort of plan for food even if I eat before he does! I get supper cleaned up and pack him a lunch for the next day too. These pork chops I made the other night were SO GOOD! My evenings usually vary in the tasks that I work on! I answer messages, post on social media and check into my groups. I often times if I have some "free time" I'll work on developing additional content also! On Wednesday nights we have team call also which is fun to jump on and hang out with my team! I do work until about 8 or 8:30 then it's put away! I'm getting better at that. Doing what you love can be addicting! Lights out around 9 or 9:30 - soon it'll be all starting over again!
What does your day look like? What most surprised you about my day? What time do you usually go to bed?
