I LOVE baking and I love eating cookies! I get asked ALL the time...why are you NOT 400 lbs? How do you bake all of those things and not eat it all? and most recently I have had a lot of questions about finding a balance during the holidays...eating some treats..having some cocktails...and not going TOTALLY on a spiral downward away from your health goals and progress you have made so far in 2017.
4 tips to get back on track after the holiday splurges (but not deprive yourself)
So what if you did go crazy over the holidays and found yourself at the bottom of the goody tray....
1. Forgive yourself. Get over it! It happened. It's over. Now move on with your day. Don't let one bad choice define the rest of your day or week! Make your next choice a better one.
2. Eat a solid breakfast! Choose a lean protein, a slow release carbs like oats, whole grain toast, greek yogurt, sweet potato and pair it also with a fat. This combination keeps you fuller longer and gives you a solid start to your day! Ex: 2 eggs with 1 piece of whole grain toast and avocado, 2 eggs with oats, non dairy milk and nut butter -
3. Find an accountability community! Find someone to help you out! Find a support system. Someone to check in with. Find someone you TRUST that you can vent to, share your goals with a someone who won't judge you. I would love to be that person for you! Drop me an email HERE and tell me what YOU want most in 2018.
4. Move your body. It doesn't have to be extreme. Go for a walk. Stretch it out. Pop in a home workout video. Log in and do a workout from you on demand library online. Just move and hey why not invite someone to join you!
I can't wait to hear about how you spent your holidays! I truly hope you DID indulge and have some treats .. no guilt allowed!
